He has pioneered the development of executive toolkits which include Finance for Directors and Executives covering all organisations as well as an exclusive toolkit on Finance  for the Non Profit Organisations.  These Programs have received a "Greenlight” Status from UK Trade & Investment’s Global Entrepreneur

Programme as a “Technology of Exceptional Potential.”He has also developed a toolkit on Governance and long term sustainability. Vijay has written numerous articles which are regularly published in an Accounting Journal and has also featured in local newspapers. Vijay is currently a director of the UK Policy Governance Association and is one of about 300 Policy Governance Consultants globally having been trained by the inventor, Dr John Carver. He has also served as a Governance and Risk Committee member for ACCA for 4 years and was an International Assembly Representative for this esteemed organization. Vijay has  further successfully completed a Directors Course held by the Commonwealth Association of Corporate Governance. Vijay is an Advisor to the Board of Sterling Group based in Dubai and is one of the partners of an International Consulting firm based in UK, Canada and USA.

Formerly Group Finance and Commercial Director of Steadman Group, a media, research and training Company in many Countries(Now bought over by Synovate Group).   Vijay was instrumental in its growth by almost 20 fold in 9 Years. He was also involved in  Merger and Acquisition for the Group.

He had a successful  Audit practice and his consultation and advisory services for various organisations such as  steel, service industry, real estate, import and export, non profit, hospitality and  other sectors,  resulted in accelerated corporate performance through  shaping executive structures implementing best practices. Amarjeet has a wealth of experience in a wide range of commercial activities, having worked in the UK, US, Europe and extensively in the Middle East in industries ranging from Information Technology, Oil & Gas to Real Estate Investment and Development and Manufacturing.

Currently he is Director of Consultancy at Horwath Mak part of CroweHorwath International, based in Dubai. Horwath MAK is a comprehensive corporate consultancy network counted amongst the top ten multidisciplinary practices in the region.  Providing tailored, cost-effective, efficient professional services leveraged by extensive experience of local business and a high level of personal involvement. Horwath MAK is truly global, part of the Crowe Horwath worldwide network consisting of 640 offices in more than 100 countries and considered a global consultant with the local touch offering access to international expertise, total commitment to clients and the highest technical standards.

Prior to this as Management consultant to a number of clients offering UK real Estate services, financing opportunities. He has been advising business entities on expansion in the Middle East as part of the UK Trade & Industry government initiatives. He is also involved with a number of clients assisting with business performance measurement and developing strategies for improvement and growth, including acting as Interim CFO for the largest Jewellery manufacturing company in the Middle East region.  

Prior to starting the UK Consultancy, Amarjeet was the Chief Financial Officer for Rasis Developers, a privately owned real estate Investment and Development company based in Dubai, established in January 2006 to provide a solid foundation for sustainable real estate development in the U.A.E., the Middle East and Asia regions. Reporting directly to the senior member of the ruling family in Abu Dhabi, the company developed/managed Real Estate development projects ranging from US$10m to US$500m. Amarjeet has had considerable in involvement in raising finance both in terms of Equity (via placements and private investments) and debt via banking institutions within the Region

He has also held interim post with Ishraq Holdings, who own, manage and develop the Holiday Inn Express brand of Hotels in the Middle East. The Express brand operates with thin the “budget” sector of the Hotel industry and hence detailed/extensive feasibility studies were required to meet strict investment criteria in order to evaluate new sites for development .

Previously, he was the Group Financial Controller at Emaar Properties,(the UAE’s Premier Real Estate Investment Development Co)  where he was part of the Executive Committee involved extensively in the operations of Emaar in the UAE. Amarjeet was involved in a number of major projects including the Words Tallest Building (Burj Khalifa).  The operations at Emaar, included not only the financial departments but also facilities management and the setting up of Owners Associations for a number of the Emaar Development communities.

He has also spent a considerable amount of time in the UK in various industries but in particular the IT software industry, having worked with Unisys (systems integration) and L&H (software distribution)

Amarjeet is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants and was the UAE representative on the Global Markets Committee.

Non Executive Director and International Business Development Advisor.

 

Since January 2005 I have been advising companies on how to launch their products and services into Hong Kong, China and India. I assist with market entry (including city visits), tax structures, corporate finance, corporate governance and project management. I am well connected with professional advisors globally and work with partners in to access funding and opportunities for companies to list on overseas markets.

 

In June 2009 I was appointed as a Non-executive Director to Chinese AIM listed company LED, providing assistance with good governance and strategies for overseas expansion. The company works in the construction and media sectors, supplying the latest in LED lighting and large screens for Stadia.

 

I am a member of the following trade bodies: The China Britain Business Council, The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, the ASEAN UK Business Forum, the Institute of Directors and The 48 Group Club. I also work closely with the Indo China Chamber of Commerce (based in Mumbai).

 

I am an active Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and I was elected to the CIMA Board in June 2009 (I am Vice Chair of the International Committee). This provides me with knowledge of best practice in governance, international strategies and experience to take on Non-Exec and Interim Finance Director roles.

Nov 1990 – Jan 2002 I spent 11 years with Cable & Wireless Global and had particular success renegotiating multi million pound contracts with UK Mobile operators. Initially, I managed a finance function and thereafter worked in a series of senior management roles across Europe, including supplier contract negotiation, business development, sales & marketing and project finance.

 

Sep 1987 – Oct 1990 Trainee Accountant, Audit and Finance Analyst roles with MacIntyre Hudson and Kidsons Corporate Finance. Financial accounting; tax compliance; SAGE, SUN and SAP client accounting systems implementations; business plans for venture capital funding.

In my voluntary capacity I act as Chairman of a UK Charity “Now I Eat” (registered number 1129938) which assists children in need in China and India.

 

In my leisure time I play golf, tennis, badminton and enjoy cycling. I am also a keen Rugby supporter.
